Our Company
Sensory Getaway was founded by Dayna Robertson, a dedicated special education teacher with a heart for creating meaningful change. Education and therapy run deep in Dayna’s family, with special education teachers and occupational therapists among them — together holding multiple master’s degrees and over 40 years of combined experience supporting children from birth through 12th grade. Dayna recognized a need in the community for a place where children with sensory needs could truly thrive. That vision sparked the creation of Sensory Getaway — a welcoming, thoughtfully designed space where children can safely meet their sensory needs, and families can find encouragement, connection, and resources to better support their children. Sensory Getaway has been a true labor of love for Dayna and her family. They are more than a team — they are a family who understands, supports, and uplifts. And they can’t wait to welcome you into it.
Our Mission
Sensory Getaway is a warm, welcoming space created with all children in mind — especially those with different abilities — and the families who love and care for them. It’s a peaceful place where every child is valued, and every caregiver feels supported. We've thoughtfully designed an environment that encourages calm, connection, and confidence through play and learning. Here, families can take a deep breath, recharge, and grow together — one meaningful moment at a time.
Light (Space) – A glowing, space-inspired environment where kids explore the magic of how light moves, changes, and interacts. Water (Ocean) – A peaceful, ocean-themed space with water and sand play, a bubble wall, gentle sounds, and water painting that engages the senses and inspires relaxation. Music (Rainbow) – A colorful, sound-filled space where kids can create music using a giant floor piano, handbells, and interactive apps. Swing (Blue Sky) – A sky-themed haven where kids can swing, move, and imagine themselves soaring among the clouds. Calming (Camping) – A cozy forest-themed space with soft lights, soothing sounds, and a canoe for deep-pressure comfort, perfect for relaxation and sensory regulation. Bins (Adventure) – A hands-on discovery area with ever-changing sensory bins for endless tactile exploration and sorting fun. Creative and Imagination-– A large imaginative space including Legos and blocks, magnets, arts and crafts, dress-up, and other items and equipment designed to encourage imaginative play.

“They have a variety of themed rooms and lots of activities for all children. Nice and clean and well organized. My grandsons had so much fun and wanted to go back again the next day - so we did. They loved interacting with the other kids that were there but also enjoyed doing their own thing. Each one had their own favorite room and activity. Highly recommend! And there was no time limit. We could stay as long as they wanted.”
